ISLAMABAD—A coalition of Pakistani civil society organizations held a peaceful protest in the heart of Federal Capital Islamabad against recent killings in Handwara, Indian-occupied Kashmir and the harassment of college students specially National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar students in Indian-occupied Kashmir and in India. The peaceful protest was organized by the international lobbying group Youth Forum For Kashmir (YFK).
Young activists, human rights defenders, lobbyists, and youth wings of political parties from YFK – Youth Forum For Kashmir, Positive Pakistan, JKSO – Jammu Kashmir Student Organization, ISF – Insaf Student Federation, PYO – People’s Youth Organization, Baloch Students, MSF – Muslim Students Federation – N, ATI – Anjuman Talaba Islam and YAP – Youth Association of Pakistan were gathered on Monday, 18 April 2016, to show solidarity with the brave young men and women of Kashmir.
Young activists holding banners and placards chanted slogans against Indian occupation, brutality and atrocities in occupied Kashmir. They also criticized Indian film star Anupam Kher on supporting Hindu extremists of BJP against Kashmiris.
Youth Forum For Kashmir (YFK) is Pakistan’s first pro-Kashmir, registered and nonpartisan International lobbying group led by young Kashmiris and Pakistanis working to ensure justice to Kashmiris living under Indian-military occupation.
