Raised The Plight Of Kashmiris: Nafees Zakaria

ISLAMABAD—International Lobbying Group Youth Forum For Kashmir (YFK) organized a seminar in Islamabad Hotel of the Federal Capital Islamabad titled “Kashmir Dispute – New Challenges And The Way Forward” to highlight the post Burhan Wani killing situation and human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Ambassador Mohammed Nafees Zakaria, Spokesperson Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad stated that Pakistan always condemned killings in Indian-occupied Kashmir. These are Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts that UN, OIC and the world is now condemning the ongoing killings in Kashmir. UN resolutions are the only way forward to take up this dispute. Be it any government, State of Pakistan has always raised the plight of Kashmiris.
Ch. Abdul Majeed, Ex-Prime Minister Of Azad Jammu & Kashmir said that I don’t recognize Kashmir committee which is headed by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Kashmir committee has no Kashmiri representation. Pakistan has to show a clear stance on Kashmir, joint session of Senate and Parliament should be called on Kashmir.
Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP) said that it is good that Pakistan has shown continuity in its policies towards Kashmir. He said that Quaid-E-Azam was very clear about Kashmir and wanted to give Kashmiris the Right To Self-Determination even if they decide to be the part of India.
Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan, Leader Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) said that Kashmir cause is the dearest cause to him, Pakistan’s independence will remain pending till Kashmir’s freedom. He asked that are our kids being taught about Kashmir? Are we asking votes for Kashmir cause? We have to add Kashmir in political manifestos.
Mr. Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Ameer-E-Jamaat-E-Islami Azad Jammu & Kashmir said that we as an individual and member of any political party should come forward to raise our voice for Kashmir.
Other speakers included Dr. Muhammad Khan, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Romina Khursheed Alam, while Sheikh Tajammul-Ul-Islam moderated the seminar.
Youth Forum For Kashmir (YFK) is Pakistan’s first pro-Kashmir, registered and nonpartisan International lobbying group led by young Kashmiris and Pakistanis working to ensure justice to Kashmiris living under Indian-military occupation.
